Where to Buy Prescription Glasses
Glasses have been a part of my identity for as long as I can remember and have come with various degrees of love and hatred as I have gotten older. I spent a good portion of my younger years having my parents buy designer branded glasses (completely unknown to me) due to the lack of price and brand transparency in common placed opticians and have now transitioned into buying them from independent retailers so I can understand what I am buying right from the beginning.
To that end, knowing where to shop for glasses can be quite the challenge, especially finding somewhere that will fit your frames with all the added extras for a decent price but whether it is through personal experience or recommendations, I’ve got a few places for you to check out!

Must have Workwear Items
Almost a year after joining full time employment, I think I have cracked the code having built up staple pieces that have carried me through the past 9 months. Gone are the days of chucking on my comfy clothes to sit and write an essay or attend a lecture. Nevertheless, I’ve tried to carry through the same principles with my work wear. You’re sitting at a desk 9-5 so comfort is key.

Looking at London Fashion Week
It is that time of year again where New York, London, Milan and Paris have floods of people brought in to admire and celebrate the hard work of both well known and up and coming designers. It is a space of creativity where not only does fabric turn into fascinating pieces of art, it also brings together fashion and theatre which helps to bring such fabulous pieces to life.[…]

Summer Style Guide
Well, now the weather has literally hit an all time high, it seemed like a good time to discuss dressing for the insane heat. My Summer wardrobe has always been a flexible one with pieces that are easy to transition and mix with other items. But it can also be incredibly difficult to have reliable and transitional items, I think we can all agree that shopping for Summer in Scotland is a whole different ball game.

The Met Gala 2022 | Historical Context, Best Dressed and Hidden Meanings.
Monday was of course the 1st of May and with that comes the event of the season, the Met Gala. Hosted at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York by Vogue’s Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, it is a charitable event to raise money for the costume institute. Unlike previous years, this was a two part event with the first one being held on September 18th 2021. Part one was ‘America: A lexicon of Fashion’ and the recent gala expanded on this theme with ‘In America: An Anthology of Fashion’, with ‘Gilded Glamour’ being the primary focus. Of course, with any Met Gala theme, there are those who hit the mark and those who were nowhere near being close to it.[…]

Recreating Pinterest Outfits
I cannot tell you how much I have wanted to do this blog post! I have seen it circulating the internet, particularly on TikTok for a while now. […] Anyway, as you probably know by now, I have always been a big advocate for sustainable, considered shopping methods. I have written extensively on the subject over the past year and consequently, I thought this was one of the best ways to have a different perspective on my wardrobe.

My Autumnal Style Guide
Yes, Autumn has finally arrived. It’s currently very wet and dreary in Edinburgh and the leaves are starting to turn a lovely shade of orange. Which also means it is one of my favourite times of year (unless you get caught in said wet rain). […].

SPF | The Importance of Suncream and Applying it Correctly.
Is she rather late to the party? Yes that would be correct. Does the subject still rile her up the wall? Absolutely. That ‘she’ we are talking about is me of course. The topic of SPF has sparked many a debate over the past month, when Caroline Hirons rightfully called out Gwyneth Paltrow, actress and owner of Goop, when she stated that SPF should be placed only on the high points of your face like highlighter. […]

MY THOUGHTS ON GLOSSIER
Last year my sister and I did our first order on Glossier. I’m not going to lie I was very dubious about how it was going to be because 1. it’s expensive and 2. it’s a brand who’s identity is very gimmicky, in the sense of them selling merchandise and it all being very pink. It’s definitely a company that is selling a lifestyle rather than just some makeup and skincare items. […]

LET’S TALK: SUSTAINABLE FASHION
Hello everyone! Welcome to my non judgemental and open space for discussion. I didn’t originally preface this (in the hope that you would feel this way anyway) and largely I refuse to do this to my thoughts however I want people to be comfortable with contributing to the ‘argument’ whether you agree or disagree. I think with addressing any topic of this nature it is important to stress that change and evolution is only natural. […]

SHOP SMALL THIS CHRISTMAS: GIFT GUIDE
You’ve probably heard recently that Christmas shopping, more than ever, has been directed to supporting small businesses. As everyone has pointed out Jeff Bezos (founder of Amazon) has enough money (too much in my opinion) whereas small businesses have really struggled. […]

NO FUSS HAIRCARE ROUTINE
I am very lucky to have thick, relatively fuss free hair. However I do find it still needs taken care of, just like your skin. It’s only something I’ve recently implemented into my routine as I am generally more of a lazy person and simply want to jump in and out of the shower. […]

A STUDENTS PERSPECTIVE ON SUSTAINABLE FASHION
I am in favour of anything sustainable. I am a firm believer that the world needs to take active steps in reducing factors like its carbon footprint to make the world we inhabit last a lot longer. I am not in favour however of guilt tripping people about their habits without knowing their economic reasons, or any reason for that matter, behind their attitude […].

MY SKINCARE ROUTINE
When I used to think of skincare I would perceive it as a chore and would do the bare minimum. That being, taking off my makeup before bed and putting on the odd bit of moisturiser. Now after watching/reading multiple blog posts/videos from Caroline Hirons […] I knew that an actual routine would be helpful.[…].
